When is it too young to look too old?

Here's something I've kept to myself. Not like it's a big secret but I thought maybe I was the only one with a scrunched face and raised eyebrows.  When Modern Family won an Emmy for Best Comedy on Sunday night, what I couldn't take my eyes off of was Ariel Winter on stage. She plays middle child Alex on the show -- and as we all know, plays a character who is bookish in comparison to her ditzy big sis.  All I was really seeing onstage were her boobs. And that brought me back to when I saw the cast on Larry King Live last year, and was shocked to see her wearing so much makeup.  She's 13.  Now I see I wasn't the only one who thought so. I'm very conflicted because maybe she's trying to show the world that she's not like the character she plays on TV. And maybe she's really loving her girlie side and wanting to show it off. I get that. And how fun to be able to express yourself so confidently! But I think she's too young to show such a mature side of herself -- ONLY because I'm a little scared for her in how she might be treated (by men) because of it.  But now I feel protective of her because it's splashed all over the media and I can't imagine being that age and having to deal with that.
